Lehigh River Watershed Fund

Just launched in 2019! A Field of Interest fund established with initial the gifts and support of Dennis DeMara and the four rafting outfitters operating in the Lehigh Gorge (Jim Thorpe River Adventures, Pocono Whitewater, Whitewater Challengers, and Whitewater Rafting Adventures) to primarily support projects related to conservation, education, and outdoor recreation within the Lehigh River watershed, with the priority focus on benefit to the region of Carbon County, Pennsylvania, through grants made to deserving and qualified nonprofit organizations. Grants may be awarded to projects taking place outside of this region, however, benefit to the Carbon County community must be demonstrated. Just launched in 2019! Vahnne’s Piggy Bank Fund was established by family and loved ones to honor the life of Vahnne Gower, who passed away in a house fire in 2017.
