We’re pleased to share that our President, Sharon Alexander, was honored with the Young Professional of the Year Award by the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation at their Midnight in the Garden Awards Gala on Friday, November 14th.
This award celebrates outstanding individual dedicated to supporting CCEDC and other community organizations through volunteer work and outreach. For us, this recognition reflects not just Sharon’s leadership, but the growth of the Community Foundation and the collective efforts of our donors, partners, and local nonprofits who make our mission possible.
“I’ve always believed that strong communities are built by people who show up for one another,” said Sharon. “This award really reflects what we’ve been building together here in Carbon County. I’m grateful for everyone who supports the Foundation and helps move our mission forward.”
Additional Foundation Connections Honored
We were also proud to see other Community Foundation partners recognized during the awards program:
Panther Valley Blueprint Community received the Economic Development Project of the Year Award. Their ongoing revitalization efforts continue to create opportunities and strengthen the region, supported in part by their Field of Interest Fund held at the Foundation.
Nita Nydam, owner of 903 Landscaping Supply and a member of the Foundation’s 20/20 Circle, received the William H. Bayer Lifetime Achievement Award. Nita has been a dedicated community supporter for many years, and this honor reflects her long-standing commitment to the county.
Overall, it was a meaningful evening that highlighted the work happening throughout Carbon County. We extend our warm congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients and our thanks to the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Office for being such a valued partner.
