The sixth annual NEPA Gives took place last week on June 5th and 6th, 2024 and you showed up more than ever before. In just 24 hours, 8,084 donors contributed $1,328,014 to 257 local nonprofit organizations and charitable causes across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The Carbon County Community Foundation was a co-host of the region’s largest giving event in partnership with The Scranton Area Community Foundation, Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers, The Luzerne Foundation, Wayne County Community Foundation, Greater Pike Community Foundation, the Community Foundation of Monroe County, Posture Interactive, and other community sponsors to raise awareness about the critical work nonprofit organizations carry out across the region and to help charitable organizations raise much-needed funds.
“NEPA Gives is more than just a day of giving—it’s a powerful reminder of the generosity and unity that exists across our region,” said Sharon Alexander, President of the Carbon County Community Foundation. “To see 8,084 donors come together to raise $1.3 million for 257 organizations in just 24 hours is truly inspiring. This event showcases what’s possible when a community rallies around its nonprofits, and we’re proud to be part of something that creates such meaningful impact in Northeast Pennsylvania.”
Hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes and matching incentives were awarded to participating nonprofits for notable achievements, all sponsored by generous businesses, foundations, and donors across the region. The host foundations also introduced The Stretch Pool this year which awarded matching funds to every organization for each unique donor who made a gift.
This was the sixth year for NEPA Gives. To date, NEPA Gives has raised more than $6.5 million for hundreds of local nonprofit organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania since it began in 2020.
